Full-time
Non-attendance (ABAWDS) adults aged 18 to 50 may receive CalFresh benefits for only three months in 36 months if they are not working or participating in a job or employment welfare and training program, apart from looking for a job. This condition is not available in some places.
With some exceptions, full-grown adults between the ages of 16 and 60 must register for employment, receive appropriate employment, and participate in the District's employment programs and training. Failure to comply with these conditions can be interpreted as having no qualifying program.
Special rules for seniors or persons with disabilities
All CalFresh rules apply to all households, but there are few rules for households with elderly or disabled members.
Migrant Rights
2002 Farm Bill helps restore CalFresh's rights to all legitimate migrants.
Some non-citizens, such as those who admit to being a humanitarian and who are considered as permanent citizens, also have the right to get help from the program. Eligible family members can get help from CalFresh even if they are other members of the household who are not entitled to it.
